From the Ordinary into the Extraordinary

Running along the beach today I saw these huge rocks cascading out of the water and I thought they looked pretty spectacular, but as I kept running I discovered even bigger and more breathtaking rocks with ocean water breaking against them. I wanted to venture onto them and it was slippery and I could have easily fallen. I felt like God was saying "I am taking you farther, into the extraordinary. You may fall, you may get wet or even get cuts that sting even more with the surrounding salt water but eventually you will go to where I want you to be, I am taking you into the glorious, taking you deeper still" The question now is do I trust Him? When I fall or even am pushed into the freezing cold water and my legs are cut on the sharp barnacles, when the saltwater burns my raw, exposed wounds, when I don't know why things are happening, will I cling to Him? Will I trust him? Will I listen to His voice calling me deeper still even when I can't see Him? Will I focus on His voice alone and forget about everything else? Will I let everything else become dull in comparison to him? Or will I turn to anger? Will I get angry at my situation and make so much noise that I can no longer hear his voice? Will I splash around in the cold and get so turned around that no only am I not walking toward him but farther away? Will I make the cuts worse by striking my legs against the barnacles in anger but causing deeper wounds to myself? Today I choose to turn to Him. To follow His voice to put down the anger and let him calm the waters. Today I choose to put down my pride, put down my fight and let Him fight the battles for me. Today I choose to follow His voice even when I don't know where he is leading me. Today I choose Gods will over my own. Today my run was not about my pace, my miles, or a race, today my run was about hearing God's voice speak to me through his majestic creation! This song really speaks on the same things I learned today- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOvvArOojuI >
